Why the Petite Speidel Scrub Watch is Great for Nurses
As you can see by the specs (and the name), this watch is pretty much made for medical professionals. The second hand is bright red and I found the watch super easy to read. This is really helpful when you’re performing pulse readings as well as when you need to check the second time for a split-second glance without mixing it up with the minute hand.
In addition to the red second hand, the minute and hour hand are reflective with just 30 seconds of direct light exposure. This makes the watch nearly as helpful as a digital watch with a glow feature, as you can still see the time in less-than-optimal lighting.
When you purchase this watch, you are also able to get other replaceable bands. These bands tend to match nearly perfectly with whatever scrubs you have. These bands are waterproof and easy-to-clean, making it easy for you to keep yourself safe.

What I Like About the Speidel Petite Scrub Watch
I just shared all the specs for this watch, but, at the end of the day, if it’s ugly, I’m not wearing it.
Functionality aside, I do think these watches are super cute and simple. As you can see, it looks perfect with nurse scrubs (and matches pretty closely as well), but it’s also small and inconspicuous enough to be worn to the gym, running errands, or to classes (if you’re still in nursing school).
I’m also simply a fan of petite watches because I have a smaller wrist and the original-sized scrub watch by Speidel is a little too big for me. To further my case for a smaller face, I also find smaller analog wrist watches to blend in better with any outfit. I’d consider getting a white or black band as well for wearing it with more casual outfits for the weekend.
Speaking of bands, you can get any replaceable band for $10.95, so you don’t have to worry about replacing a whole watch if/when a band gets dirty. This means a white band doesn’t need to sit on the shelf for a special occasion, because you can always just buy another new band for a pretty affordable price. These bands feel super sturdy, so I am not even sure how much wear it would take to need to get a new one. There are 18 super cute color options to choose from, by the way, so good luck just getting one.
What I Don’t Like About the Speidel Petite Scrub Watch
Because this is marketed as a medical watch, there were some medical professionals in reviews I read that said the hands were falsely advertised as ‘luminous.’ I decided to have a look with darker lighting and found that the hands were faintly reflecting light. I can see how this would feel misleading for buyers looking for a glow-in-the-dark hand. If taking time in the dark or in poorly lit areas is a huge concern of yours, perhaps consider a watch with actual light-up features.

Buying Tips
I got the watch bands in ‘light pink’ and ‘blue.’ The ‘blue’ matches blue scrubs nearly perfectly. The main idea is for nurses, nursing students, or medical professionals to match their scrubs. That said, these are basic enough to wear any color without seeming too bold.

The Speidel Petite scrub watch is perfect watch for nursing students, nurses, and pretty much any medical professional who are looking for an easy-to-clean and easy-to-read watch that is functional as well as cute. In fact, these silicone watches would make great gifts for any woman who values functionality and practicality. When I showed this watch to my sister, she said she really liked it, too. Maybe I have a perfect Christmas gift idea for next year.
