The USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) assesses whether you can apply the science concepts you’ve learned to the practice of medicine. This test wants to know how well you can apply your values and skills to real life, patient-centered situations. 

The USMLE Step 1 is a one-day, computer-based exam that is taken by medical students upon completion of their second year of medical school. This 8-hour test includes 280 multiple-choice questions that is broken out into seven 1-hour blocks of 40 questions each.
